Stats
They need 60 Attack, give +54 slash and +32 Strength, and hit every 4 ticks. Against demons they add 5% accuracy and damage. As a main weapon they are weak; the special is the point.
Burning Barrage
The special hits three times. Since 22 July 2026 it costs 35% energy, up from 30%, so you no longer get three specs from a full bar without help. Like dragon claws, the damage depends on which accuracy roll lands first:
- First roll lands: 75% to 175% of your max hit, with a 15% burn chance on each hitsplat.
- Second roll lands: 50% to 150%, with a 30% burn chance on each.
- Third roll lands: 25% to 125%, with a 45% burn chance on each.
Each burn deals 10 damage over 24 seconds and up to five can stack. On high-Defence targets, the later rolls landing means more burns, which softens the miss penalty.
How they are made
Combine two burning claws. No skill is needed. Each claw drops from Tormented Demons at roughly 1 in 501 kills. The claws and Tormented Demons came out with the grandmaster quest update of 10 July 2024. The finished claws trade near the price of two single claws: when one side is cheaper, buy that side.
Who buys them
Slayer players, raiders and boss killers wanting a spec weapon without paying for dragon claws. They are popular at Cerberus, Theatre of Blood, Chambers of Xeric challenge mode and Doom of Mokhaiotl, where they help clear demonic larvae.
What moves the price
Spec cost changes, like July 2026, and how many players are farming Tormented Demons. Dragon claw prices act as a ceiling: if the gap narrows too far, buyers move up. With a buy limit of 8 and moderate volume, weekly swings can be large, so check the 7 day chart before buying. The high alch value is 480,000 coins, well under the trade price. Test both claws in the DPS calculator on your target, and see the melee gear progression for where they fit.
