What the lookup shows
The top of the result gives overall rank, total level and total xp. Below that, each of the 24 skills shows its level, exact xp and rank, Sailing included. Then come boss and raid kill counts and clue scroll completions from beginner to master.
Levels stop at 99 on the hiscores, but xp keeps counting up to 200 million per skill. If you want to know how far an account is from its next level or from 99, put the xp into the OSRS xp table, or open the skill calculator with the same name and it fills in every level for you.
Comparing two players
Enter a second name and both accounts show side by side, skill by skill and boss by boss. It is the quickest way to settle who is actually ahead in a clan race, or to see how a friend's account is built before you team up for a raid. Comparing combat stats this way also shows why two accounts with the same total level can play very differently; the combat level calculator turns those stats into a combat level.
How the official hiscores rank players
| Board | Minimum to show | Ranked by |
|---|---|---|
| Overall | A ranked place in the table | Total level, then total xp |
| Each skill | A ranked place in that skill | Xp, then who reached it first |
| Bosses and raids | 5 kills (1 for the Mimic and TzKal-Zuk) | Kill count, then who reached it first |
| Clue scrolls | A ranked place for that tier | Clues completed |
Ties go to whoever got there first, which is why the top of a maxed skill is a list of accounts on exactly 200,000,000 xp sorted by date. Scores never reset. The overall table ranks by total level, so an account with every skill at 99 sits above one with more xp but a lower total.
The hard ceilings: 99 in all 24 skills gives a total level of 2,376, and 200 million xp in each gives 4.8 billion total xp.
Why a player or a score is missing
- The account is too low to rank. Each table ranks a limited number of places, from the top million in a skill to the top two million elsewhere. Since November 2025, skills below the cut-off still show their level and xp, just without a rank.
- The name changed. The hiscores follow the account, so search the current name.
- Recent gains are missing. Stats are taken when you log out. Log out once, then search again.
- A boss shows nothing. Most bosses need 5 kills before they appear at all. The Mimic and TzKal-Zuk show from the first kill.
Boss kill counts here pair well with the OSRS dry calculator: take the kill count from the lookup, enter the drop rate, and see how unlucky you have actually been.
Other boards
The official site keeps separate tables for Ironman, Hardcore Ironman, Ultimate Ironman, group ironman and seasonal modes such as Deadman and Leagues. Two newer boards, Skillers and 1 Defence, were added in February 2023. An account can appear on more than one of these at once.
