How the kingdom pays out
Once you finish Throne of Miscellania, your subjects gather resources every day at midnight UTC and you collect the stockpile from Advisor Ghrim whenever you like. Each day the kingdom takes a wage from your coffer: 10% of the balance, capped at 50,000 coins (75,000 after Royal Trouble). Output depends on that wage, so the cap is what you want to pay every day.
That gives you the one number to remember. Keep at least 500,000 in the coffer, or 750,000 after Royal Trouble. Below that, 10% is less than the cap and your workers bring back less. The coffer holds up to 5,000,000 (7,500,000 after Royal Trouble), and a full 7.5m covers about 90 days before it drops under 750,000.
Approval
Approval runs from 25% to 100%, and output scales with it, so keep it near the top. It falls 2.5% a day, or only 1% a day once Royal Trouble is done. You raise it by working for your subjects on the island:
- Raking weeds in the herb or flax patch: a point of approval for every weed, the quickest way back to 100%.
- Mining coal: a point per ore and two per gem.
- Chopping maples, fishing or buying flowers: a 50% chance of a point each time.
- After Royal Trouble, chopping teak and mahogany on Etceteria counts too.
Topping up every few days costs very little in practice, which is why the calculator lets you test lower approval levels. It shows exactly how much a week away costs you.
What 10 workers bring back
You start with 10 workers and get 15 after Royal Trouble, but no single category takes more than 10. Royal Trouble also raises productivity by 50%, so it is worth finishing early. These are the daily amounts for 10 workers in one category, with Royal Trouble done, full approval and the coffer above 750,000:
| Category | Main resource per day | Side loot |
|---|---|---|
| Herbs | 61 grimy herbs (or 1,250 flax) | Herb seeds, more often on flax |
| Maple woodcutting | 892 maple logs | 1 bird nest per 100 logs |
| Hardwood | 301 teak, 223 mahogany or 121 of each | 1 bird nest per 350 logs |
| Mining | 546 coal | Uncut gems |
| Fishing | 440 tuna and 132 swordfish, raw or cooked | Gems, caskets, clue scrolls |
| Farming | 481 mixed seeds | None |
Picking a worker split
There is no single best split, because the answer moves with prices. Herbs are usually near the top since a handful of high-level herbs like snapdragon lift the average, but a jump in bird nest prices can push maple or teak ahead, and coal holds steady value when herbs are cheap. Put 10 workers in whichever category the calculator ranks first and the remaining 5 in the second. Never leave workers idle: they still draw wages.
The herbs come grimy, so if you train Herblore you can clean them yourself; the Herblore calculator shows what they are worth as potions. Seeds from the farming category pair with the Farming calculator if you would rather plant than sell.
How long you can leave it
The stockpile keeps growing for roughly 230 days of full coffers and approval, then stops. In practice most players collect every few weeks, top up approval while they are there, and refill the coffer. Players often search for this as an OSRS kingdom calculator, and the days to collect box answers the usual question: how long to leave it before the haul is worth the trip.
Ultimate ironmen cannot collect kingdom resources at all. For everyone else it is one of the most hands-off entries on our money making list, since the work is a few minutes of raking every so often.
